Exam Stress-Busting Tips:Believe in yourselfU wouldn't hv been given a place on e course if u didnt hv th ability to do it. So, if u prepare for e exams properly u should do fine, meaning tt there is no need to worry excessively.
Don't try to be perfectIts great to succeed and reach for the stars. But keep things in balance. If u think tt "anything less than A+ means I've failed" then u are creating mountains of unnecessary stress for urself. Aim to do ur best but recognise tt none of us can be perfect all of the time.
Take steps to overcome problems. If u find u dont understand certain things, getting stressed out wont help. Take action to address the problem directly by seeing ur tutor or getting help from your class mates.
Tips for the Revision Period:1. Leave plenty of time to revise-
Dont do last minute cramming.2. Develop a timetable to track and monitor ur progress-
Allow time for relax and fun.
3. As u notice your mind starts losing concentration, take a short break-
Dont be so gangho!4. Experiment with several alternative revision techniques-
Its not all abt memorising.
5. Dont drink too much coffee, tea and fizzy drinks; e caffeine will 'hype' u and make ur thinking less clear-
Eat healthily and regularly.6. Regular moderate exercise will boost your energy, clear your mind and reduce any feelings of stress-
Take stairs instead. Haha.
7. Sleep well-
Pandas dont sit for exams!Tips for the exam itself:1. Avoid panic. It's natural to feel some exam nerves prior to starting e exam, but if u drag it u'll not be able to think as clearly.
2. Close your eyes and take several long, slow deep breaths. Give yourself some mental pep-talk by mentally repeating "I am calm and relaxed" or "I know I will do fine".
3. If your mind goes blank, don't panic! Panicking will just make it harder to recall information. Focus on slow, deep breathing for about one minute.
After e exam don't spend endless time criticising yourself for where you think you went wrong.Often our own self assessment is far too harsh.Congratulate yourself for the things you did right, learn from the bits where you know you could have done better, and then move on.
